A major concern of residents of  Wexford Village has been speeding on our streets. The Madison Police department has made a very concerted effort to  monitor for speeding , especially on some of our major streets. It should be noted that it probably is not just the non-resident who speeds on our streets, it is US, so we need to be careful and considerate.

We are asking for your assistance in renaming Lot 400. Lot 400 is a park-like area  located between Longmeadow, Gammon Road, and Middleton Street. Folklore and some sketchy history of that parcel of land indicates that it was a  deposit area for cars and machinery during the 1930s,  and therefore could not be used as a home development area. This past year we have received a city grant ($1250), which has been completed, that included the planting of additional trees, park benches and a new prairie restoration area.  Please submit your suggestion via the Wexford Village website which has additional information or contact one of the Wexford Board members. We will be taking entries until May 30th. The board will then narrow the selection to 3 at the June Board meeting and then put it to a vote to the neighborhood. Voting will be closed June 30th and a winner will be named. The wining suggestion will receive a gift certificate to the local Nitty Gritty Restaurant.

The Wexford Board had voted at the March meeting to provide $2500 of dedicated Park Fund money for a project to place additional plantings and trees in Wexford Park. The City of Madison Park Department is providing most of the additional funding .

The Board has also endorsed a standard light fixture for all of our pathway lights and a standard pole length (12 feet) for any replacement poles that may be needed in the future.

Watch for  announcements that you will receive for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt to be held at the Wexford Park on Saturday April 19th and the Annual Wexford Cleanup Day to be held on Saturday April 26th.
