Wexford Village Board of Directors Meeting

Meeting Minutes

Present:                Don Michalski, Ken Schmidt, Roger Kong, Todd Wiegend, Jim Rather, Paul Stang, Darren Fortney, Trish Watts

Not Present:         Jason, Jenson, Al Martin

 

  1. Minutes - Motion made by Trish, 2nd by Darren. Board approved.

·         Request to get minutes out on a timelier basis.

 

  1. Financial Report (Paul)

·         Summary of receipts and disbursements for June, July and August was handed out and reviewed.

·         3 liens were filed against Wexford residents who did not pay their 2003 annual dues

·         Michelle Wettstein has agreed to assist Paul with the taxes this year.  Motion made by Darren to pay for her services, 2nd by Todd.  Board approved.

 

Ψ       Committee Reports

·         Architectural Review (Al) – No report

·         Block Captains (Jim) – Few modifications to block captains have been made.  Everything is going well.

·         City Relations (Al) – No report

·         Contracting (Don) – Contracts for fall weed & feed have been accepted from True Green and will be implemented approximately first week in October.  Trish will put a notice on the website that this activity will be coming up to notify residents.

·         Covenants (Darren)

o        Doghouse Issue – Dog house removed

o        Complaint about neighbors house with unsightly wood piles due to construction.  Covenants committee viewed, saw no violations, no action to be taken.

o        Overgrown bushes – City cited on 7/18/02.  City sent letter which was refused, next actions include posting in paper and Public notice on door. 

o        Playhouse – November 1st deadline given by the board.  Owners sent note indicating they are working with Paul Skidmore and suggest we may want to change the covenants.

o        Perpetual Garage sale:  City issued a citation.

o        Rental property renters wanted assistance on unsightly drainpipe.  No covenants broken, Outside of our jurisdiction.

o        Issue raised on landscaping outside of owner lot lines into Wexford Property.  

·         Wexford Watch (Roger) – Please have any articles for the next issue of the Watch to Roger by September 25th.

·         Directory & website (Trish) – Website statistics report handed out.

·         Welcoming (Trish) – Over the summer, we have welcomed 20 new families into the neighborhood.

·         Parks (Al) – There have been a significant number of new trees that have died due to the summer draught conditions.  They are warranted through next year, so the city will likely replace them.

·         Traffic Control (Don) – See Traffic Survey under New Business.

·         Social (Don) – Suggestion to have a Halloween House Decorating contest.  Trish will post on web.

 

  1. Old Business

·         Harvest Hill – Branford lighting project – Completed.  Positive feedback from residents.  $2489.00 was spent on this project.

·         Light Pole Removal – Apple Hill and N. Woodmont.  2 lights were removed and one was moved.  Only one complaint that it was too dark.  Majority of Wexford feels there is plenty of light.

·         Vandalism – Boards removed from fence on Harvest Hill, speeding on South Strathfield, Graffiti on Highgate Circle.

                                                                                   

  1. New Business

·         November Annual Meeting – Don called Mayor’s office to invite him to November meeting, no word yet.  Meeting will be November 24th, 7:00 p.m. at Alicia Ashman Library.  5 board members are up for election.

·         Traffic Survey for the city – Sawmill and Westfield Road.  The city has sent a petition for 50% of an identified group to sign by September 23rd.  Trish will take care of this.

·         Sports Courts – Issue on whether we need to be concerned with covenant violations or contracting enforcements.  They may affect drainage.  Don will call the city to see if they have a position on it.  We may need to set up a sub-committee to research the issue and come up with ideas.

·         The November 4th meeting will be at the Middleton Library.

·         Madison Police Department 2003 Community Survey was given to Neighborhood liaison.  Trish will post on web and try to get some feedback for the police department.
