a) Lot 400 update on Storm Sewer Pipe.
Don sent a correspondence to Mike Daly, Assistant Engineer, which details the agreement between the City and Wexford on the broken storm sewer pipe on lot 400. The city will fix the broken storm sewer pipe and Wexford will perform the landscaping. Hopefully, they will get to this soon.
b) Lot 400 update on community Enhancement grant.
Wexford has received a grant from the city for Lot 400 beautification. Last year, $800 was spent on dirt replacement and fellow resident Ken Nordlund planted about 300 prairie plantings. Additional benches and trees are planned for this year.
c) Light Poles – PKK lighting project
We have gone ahead with the $1900 project with PKK as previously proposed. There was a lengthy discussion about equipment, planning, repairs, moving poles, and different strategies. It was decided that Don, Ken and Dick will survey the lights, take detailed notes, and develop a plan to identify which poles can be eliminated, moved, etc and the recommend a standard equipment package. The sub-committee will try to have a proposal to the board at the September board meeting.
d) Herbicide contract
We will sign for a fall contract and in the spring they will give us an estimate.
a) Vandalism.
By Lot 400 and the Sawmill greenway, there were 4 damaged light poles. In addition, many other lights were broken. Our neighborhood liaison, Darren, has already spoken to our police contact, Denise Marx. Don will submit a police report. The neighborhood should realize that our dues are paying for the replacement costs of this vandalism. Motion to offer a $100 reward for information leading to the apprehension of those involved in the vandalism to the Wexford light poles. Person can remain anonymous. Motion seconded and approved. Trish will post a notice on the web site and Ken offered to hand out a ½ page flyer to residents around the affected area.
b) Neighborhood Watch Meeting.
A second neighborhood watch meeting was held on July 25th. About 25 residents attended. Trish will follow-up with Sandy Carlson to see if she wants to go any further with the Watch. In addition, we may schedule bi-annual informational meetings for the neighborhood.
c) Invitation from Paul Skidmore
Paul Skidmore offered to come speak to the neighborhood. It was decided to invite him to speak at the Annual meeting in November where we can set the agenda, limit the talk and ask questions that pertain to the neighborhood. In addition, we will invite the Mayor. Don will notify each of them.
