Meeting Minutes

Present:                Darren Fortney, Jason Jensen, Roger Kong, Alan Martin, Don Michalski, Dick Pelkey, Jim Puhl, Bill Rittman, Ken Schmidt, Paul Stang, Trish Watts

  1. Guest Speaker – Russ Hefty of the Madison Park District

·         Talked about how he worked with neighbors around the retention pond by High Point Church last fall to put in water plantings and some native grasses. He would like to do that again this Spring.

·         Stricker’s Pond – The City would like to do the same thing, work with the Association to put in natural planting around the path and in wetlands (would have to be done around mid-May). Typically, the groups would provide labor and City would supply the plantings.

·         Motion made by Trish, 2nd by Bill. Board approved.

 

  1. Financial Report

·         All but 7 dues are left to collect.

 

  1. Announcements

·         Don finally got to talk to Mike Daly again from the City regarding Lot 400 and he agreed again the City is responsible for the culvert and we will need to get some dirt brought in (area damaged from June 2000 storms). Mike will get letter out on our responsibility.

 

  1. Old Business

·         Light Poles – Ken has sent map of lights to Alliant Energy, no word yet on their estimate of costs

·         Brush trimming of circle – Don asked what Board thought of job – everyone agreed that trimming was done to specifications

·         Easter Egg Hunt – hunt went very well

·         Ice Rink benches – The 3 benches will be installed soon

 

  1. Reports

·         Covenants (Darren)

Ř       Last lot on Gammon (1124) has had boat on property for a few weeks – we have written a letter; had no response. Out lawyer has now sent a letter out to the owner of the lot.

Ř       There was a camper sitting in W. Newhaven circle that was moved after Darren sent a letter out.

·         Wexford Watch (Roger) – nothing to report

·         Social (Jim) – Garage Sale to take place May 3rd & 4th. July 4th parade stills needs a coordinator.

·         Parks (Bill)

Ř       Wexford Park Cleanup day is April 20th. Coffee and Donuts will be provided

Ř       Jane Lombardo from the City’s Neighborhood Watch program will be attending our May meeting to discuss starting one within Wexford Village.

·         City (Al) – no report

·         Directory & website (Trish)

Ř       Trish has sent open letters to businesses regarding donating coupons to Wexford Welcome Package – only 1 response so far. Looking for members. Goal is to bring personal touch to make new neighbors feel welcome.

Ř       Discovered that 7 residences were excluded from the directory listing – Trish is going to conduct a survey in Quail Ridge to check coverage, she believes we have some duplication and some others that are not getting it (in addition to the 7 above)

·         Contracting (Don) – 3 lights vandalized

 

·         Architectural Review (Al & Marty) – no report
