Meeting Minutes

Present:                Darren Fortney, Jason Jensen, Don Michalski, Jim Puhl, Bill Rittman, Ken Schmidt, Paul Stang, Trish Watts

Not Present:                Roger Kong, Alan Martin, Dick Pelkey

 

  1. Minutes

·         Motion made by Bill, 2nd by Trish. Board approved.

 

  1. Financial Report

·         All but 23 dues are left to collect.

 

  1. Old Business

·         Light Poles –  Ken recently mapped out all the lights for the Association, which will be used for future maintenance records. This information will be sent to Alliant Energy for their recommendations.

·         Brush trimming of circle – Rebid from D. Harrington was for $2950 while Barnes’ was $4550. A motion by Darren and 2nd by Bill was made to accept the Harrington bid. Board approved.

·         Easter Egg Hunt – Janette Greenheck will be coordinating this year again, which will happen on March 30. Jim will work on finding someone to shadow Janette for learning how to run it next year.

·         Late night parking by Wexford Park – City approved the placement of new no parking signs for both sides of the road along Westfield Road between Apple Hill Circle and where the bike path comes out to Westfield. No parking will be allowed from 10 pm to 5 am. Also two new 25 mph speed limit signs are being considered by the City to be placed on the park side of Westfield and Sawmill roads to act as a short-term solution to slow traffic in the area of the Park.

·         Ice Rink benches – City agreed to match funds for the installation of 3 permanent benches next to the ice skating rinks in the Park. The cost to the Association would be $1000 for the purchase (the city would install them and pay the other $1000). A motion by Jim and 2nd by Jason was made to purchase the benches. Board approved.

·         Wexford Village circles and ideas on resident landscaping – Ken will put together a couple of paragraphs giving some recommendations to residents in circles that would like to do some plantings in the circle green space.

 

  1. New Business

·         Walbridge Academy will be taking down a couple of buildings on their property off Westfield & Old Sauk

·         The city is sponsoring seminars on controlling garlic mustard; a representative of the board will be attending the one on April 20th at Owen Conservatory Park from 9-12. Currently Lot 400 has some in it.

·         The City Parks department wants to put in water plantings in Stricker’s Pond in late April/early May. Russ Hefty from the city would like Wexford to supply labor to help the City with the plantings.

 

  1. Reports

·         Covenants (Darren) – 2 reports of parked recreational vehicles in driveways. Darren will send letters.

·         Wexford Watch (Roger) – was sent out March 20th

·         Social (Jim) – nothing additional to report

·         Parks (Bill)

Ř       Wexford Park Cleanup day is April 20th. Coffee and Donuts will be provided

Ř       Jane Lombardo from the City’s Neighborhood Watch program will be invited to our May meeting to discuss starting one within Wexford Village.

Ř       City police will now recording and asking residents for license plate numbers of vehicles that park next to the park late at night.

Ř       Trish asked for ideas and volunteers to form a Wexford Welcome Committee. Tabled until next month.
